This Old Hickory bat model YP66 was used by Los Angeles Dodgers' star outfielder, Yasiel Puig, to hit his second home run of the 2016 season during the April 25th game versus the Miami Marlins at Dodger Stadium.
The bat is has a small crack in the handle and there are no pieces missing. The bat exhibits very good game use with numerous ball/seam impression marks on the barrel. Blue ball transfer marks on the barrel allow the bat to be definitively photo-matched to Puig's home run.
During the April 25th game, Puig led off the bottom of the 4th inning with the Marlins leading the Dodgers 1-0. Marlins' starting pitcher Wei-Yin Chen's first pitch to Puig was an 84 mph off-speed pitch that Puig deposited in the right field seats 399 feet away. The blast tied the game 1-1. As mentioned there is a very good, clear photo of the at-bat that shows the blue ball marks that are present on the bat. For enlarged photos of the photo-match please send a request via email. Here is a video link of the home run:
Puig used this bat the following night and during a 4th innning at-bat he hit a ground out versus Marlins' Thomas Koehler and in the process cracked the bat. The bat was taken out of play and authenticated by MLB (HZ 836821).
This bat was obtained from the Los Angeles Dodgers.
A detailed letter of authenticity from California Sports Investments will accompany a printout of the MLB Authentication.
